So, when will the next smart band be available in the market? Huami states that we will have to wait until 2020, and it seems like we are almost near to the release.
Huang says, “We do not have a fixed time when we’re going to launch Mi Band 5. But I would say that we have already started working with Xiaomi, and it’s not going to take that long.”
Few unnamed sources claim the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Dubai to have a bigger 1.2-inch AMOLED color display. It is a massive upgrade over the 0.95-inches screen on Mi Band 4. Also, the display will have more contrast and should be better in daylight conditions. The screen quality tends to be much better than on the previous models.
Another major highlight of Mi Band is global NFC support. While both Mi Band 3 and Band 4 did have NFC support, they were enabled only in the home country, China. Additionally, these sports bands had the support of their own Mi Pay system. And if NFC support comes to the Xiaomi Mi Band series, then you should be able to use smart payment systems such as Google Pay from any location.
The major innovation of the Mi Band will be giving out the ability to perform echocardiography. That means the sports watch can take ECG to detect cardiac abnormalities. Currently, the ability is seen in the Apple Watch Series 4 and few other smartwatches. It is good to see if this feature spreads along. And, the special sensors on the rear end of the case can help determine water level as well as stress levels in the body. Also, due to special sensors on the back of the case, it will be able to determine the water level in the body and the level of stress.
