Xiaomi’s new flagship Mi 8 is currently in news because of its specs leak just ahead of its launch. The complete list of features and specs of Mi 8 are now available online, thus giving us an idea of what this phone is all about. After the Mi 6, it will be the next flagship of the brand. So, let us now look at the details in the following review.
According to the leaks, Xiaomi Mi 8 in Dubai will come with the latest 2.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor that will be paired with Adreno 630GPU. Like many mobile phones with 6GB RAM in UAE & Saudi, this flagship will also have a 6GB RAM variant with both 64GB, while the 8GB model may come with the 128GB storage options to choose from. The latest Android 8.1 Oreo software is likely to run on the smartphone. Moreover, sources indicate that the company might also announce the MIUI 10 exactly on the Xiaomi Mi 8 release date. So, there is a possibility of this handset to come with the new MIUI version, which is rumored to be faster than the MIUI 9 software.
Based on the rumors, this flagship will also follow the current trend of dual camera setup. Xiaomi Mi 8 camera will sport two sensors in the rear, of which one is 20MP with f/1.7 aperture and the other is 16MPsensor with f/2.0 aperture. Meanwhile, the front shooter will get a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. These will further include additional aspects like the dual-LED dual-tone flash, 2x optical zoom, 4-axis optical image stabilization and autofocus options along with bokeh effects that further improve the camera performance. This is definitely an upgrade because the previous models like Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi Mix 2S came with an 8MP and 5MP front cameras respectively.
The rumors suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 8 display will measure 6.2-inches while giving a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels. There is also a speculation that Xiaomi will offer it with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The sensor would most probably be underneath the screen, unlike in Honor 10 that features sensor below the cover glass. Just like Xiaomi, Vivo had also revealed its first under-display fingerprint sensor. Overall, the phone looks just great with an all-metal and glass body.
But of all, the highlight of Xiaomi Mi 8 in UAE will certainly be the 3D facial recognition technology, which is almost similar to the one seen in Apple iPhone X. It might also have the popular notch design, but the position of the face unlock hardware up-front will set it apart from other Android smartphones following the same trend.
In addition to these aspects, Xiaomi Mi 8 features also include Type-C USB port, stereo speakers, splash resistant body and a massive 4000mAh battery that may offer support to both wireless and quick charging. Several brands are now offering the latest smartphones with big batteries these days. Hence, it is no wonder for Xiaomi as well to go with the flow.
