The South Korean giant took the biggest Samsung Unpacked event held on February 20 to announce the first ever foldable smartphone- Samsung Galaxy Fold. This first foldable phone from this firm will feature 4.6-inches external screen when in closed smartphone mode. When you unfold the screen, there will be a large 7.3-inches tablet. All thanks to the Samsung Infinity Flex display that is making it possible. Furthermore, the company made it quite clear that this would be a premium device and will certainly carry a higher price tag. Unfortunately! Considering the price, this wouldn’t be a device for everyone. For those who really want to taste the future generation of smartphones will prefer Samsung Galaxy Fold.
Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy Fold at the biggest Samsung launch event. The Samsung Galaxy Fold release date in the US is confirmed for April 26 and in Europe, it may release on May 3. The company did not announce any particular date from which the pre-orders of this premium device will begin.

Talking about the Samsung Galaxy Fold design, it will be a normal device with 4.6-inches Super AMOLED display of 21:9 aspect ratio when folded. Open up the display screen to find the giant 7.3-inches QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex display. This transforms the regular smartphone into a tablet. When in the phone mode, the device looks chunky. There is a fingerprint scanner on the side, and each display of the Samsung Galaxy Fold is given a battery internally. For decent sound effects, the device is equipped with stereo speakers tuned by AKG. This luxurious device can be charged wirelessly and also comes in with support of Wireless PowerShare. This technology allows the device to work as a charging mat for another device.
As for the remaining Samsung Galaxy Fold specs, it gets a high-end 7nm processor accompanied by 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. There is no expandable storage option, but the support for UFS 3.0 allows the handset to read data at faster intervals. It runs on the latest software, Android 9 Pie with Samsung’s own unique interface layered on the top. Surprisingly, this premium Samsung smartphone is given with a total of six cameras. The rear end houses triple camera setup of 16MP, 12MP and 12MP sensors, the front end has a 10MP snapper, and there are two sensors of 10MP and 8MP above the 7.3-inches display. As already known, each fold has its own battery that can be combined to offer 4380mAh battery. Despite placed separately, they work together to act as a single power source and renders enough battery life.

Firstly, Samsung stated that the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be available in two versions. One would work on the regular 4G LTE networks and the other can connect to upcoming 5G networks. It is unsure of when the device will be available in the market, but the pricing of the Samsung Galaxy Fold starts from $1980 in the U.S for the 4G LTE model. The 5G version may cost higher at $2000.
