Netflix To Stop Working On Older Samsung Smart TVs

In these recent days, Smart TVs are so popular. As with technological advancement, TV manufacturers are including popular web streaming services as a part of the entertainment. Netflix is the common streaming platform seen on almost every Smart TV. Now that, if you have taken a Samsung product, then you need to consider upgrading or take risk of losing Netflix.

According to the latest announcement from Netflix, a certain unspecified number of Samsung smart TVs will lose native support for Netflix starting from December 1. This the company explains it due to the technical limitations.

Considering the situation, one of the Netflix representative says “We’ve notified all impacted members with more information about alternative devices we support so they can keep enjoying Netflix uninterrupted”

As the streaming services continue to increase, you shouldn’t be surprised to find more and smarter TVs losing support. Currently, only a few Smart TVs lose Netflix access from December 1, 2019. This message is available on its own webpage. The company claims that Netflix sends out error messages directly to the TVs when trying to access restricted TVs.

Netflix app is pre-installed on the Samsung Smart TVs manufactured in 2010 and 2011. After many years of spreading out entertainment, it will stop functioning. The company already gave an alert to all customers this week. In other statements, the company says that these models are available for sale in only the US and Canada. Moreover, the statement further advises the affected customers to choose a game console, set-top boxes or the streaming media player that still comes in with the Netflix app support.

It is unclear how many people have an impact on this decision. As per the Netflix spokesperson only “a small number” of TVs are affected. However, if you are older Samsung TV users then lose hope on Netflix. Well! It is not necessary to throw out the device and try completely new. Instead, try some inexpensive options such as Google Chromecast, Roku streaming stick or an Amazon Fire TV stick.

Apart from the older Samsung smart TVs, even the first two Roku models along with some Vizio TVs may also lose Netflix support from December. Some of the Roku models that would not support Netflix include Roku 2000C, Roku 2050X, Roku 2100X, Roku SD Player, Roku HD Player, Roku XR Player, and Roku XD Player.
