Remember the old Motorola Razr flip model? Being a flip phone, we used to flip in and out just to have fun. Surprisingly! Motorola is reviving this model from the 2000s with a modern design. Though it is still a flip phone, the traditional keypad is now replaced by the sleek keypad and a screen that stretches out the entire device. Motorola just announced the Motorola Razr 2019 which maintains the general form factor with a 6.2-inches foldable plastic OLED panel and runs on Android 9 Pie. It is available for pre-order starting from December 26 for AED 5509. Now, the recent patent suggests another Razr-style foldable smartphone that shows clamshell form factor with a secondary display outside. Moreover, it is likely to get side sensors to launch in numerous features. Even the in-display fingerprint reader is on board. Let us look into more Motorola Razr 2 rumors.
The patent filing displays the images of the speculated Motorola Razr 2 in UAE. It has a phone housing eight touch sensors that are side-mounted. In fact, these are the virtual buttons that you can press or swipe to initiate different features. There exist four sensors on the left and four sensors on the right. All the sensors are combined when the device is closed which is termed as cumulative sensor mode. This means that you can touch any sensor when the device is open to launch a favorite app. Is the device closed? Rather than using the touch sensors, try out using Google Assistant or launch a selfie camera. Reports from Lets Go Digital suggest that the side sensors on the Motorola Razr 2 Dubai can perform 20 different functions and gestures. The sensors on the Motorola smartphone take up important shortcut functions as in other devices.
Even BlackBerry is featuring a key that maps up to the function you are choosing. Irrespective of the choice, we all need is a device sensor that can activate the functionality simply by holding the gadget. Apart from this, the patent also reveals the possibility of a touch sensor on the side. It is capable enough to detect up, down, and swipe movements. Yes! It is, in fact, an odd place for a touch sensor, but functionality is all it matters.
