How to setup Google Chromecast

October 19, 2018

Chromecast is a type of digital media players manufactured by Google. The devices are specially designed as small dongles which enable users with a mobile phone or personal computer to play Internet-streamed audio-visual content on a high-definition television or home audio system through mobile and web apps that support the Google Cast technology. Subsequently, content can be mirrored from the Google Chrome web browser running on a personal computer and from the screen of some Android devices. Recently Google has launched the Chromecast 3rd generation at its Made by Google event on 9th October, the updated version looks quite similar to its prior versions and there is no significant difference observed rather it has enhanced the capability to play the 1080p video at 60fps (in apps that support it). The event has the entire shout out for the Google Home Hub, Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL and Pixel Slate but the Google Chromecast setup was not much discussed as there wasn’t any highlight of the device to flaunt.

It is already seen through the earlier versions of Chromecast 1ST Generation, Chromecast 2nd Generation, Chromecast Audio and Chromecast Ultra that are small in size like a macron with a supportive HDMI plugin to connect with the television set except for the 1st Generation which was in the shape of a USB drive.  This time the Google Chromecast setup is a bit light in weight compared to the previous versions of Chromecast Ultra, it is now 40g instead of 47g with the sophisticated Matt White and Black colour, a Google “G” logo engraved into the centre moreover the HDMI plug has a shorter clip now.

One of the lacks you may find into the Google Chromecast setup is that it doesn’t have its own user interface, screen display or remote instead it allows the functionality through the other device like smartphone or laptop acting as the medium of media mirror display. Certainly, it is much advance in the aspect of speed compared to the previous Chromecast Ultra as it is claimed by Google that Chromecast 3rd Generation is ultimately 15percent faster than the Ultra version. Alternatively, it can be now controlled and used through the Google Home Hub by just your voice command.
