Several rumors are coming out about the release of DJI Phantom 5 in Dubai. It is being called the successor to the DJI Phantom 4 series. This upcoming device is anticipated to offer much better image and video quality compared to its predecessor.
Considering the DJI’s technological development and strategies, we can certainly expect the kind of specs and features the Phantom 5 will come with.
As it will be the fifth iteration of the Phantom, there might not be many advanced changes to the design. Factors such as shape and architecture are most likely to remain the same. Talking about the drones, retractable landing gears are the aspects that are always discussed. Including these gears will allow the camera to rotate 360-degrees freely but it would also increase the cost and lessen the flight time. Right now, DJI Phantom 4 Pro is the only model that has no foldable propellers. Hopefully, the fifth iteration also gets such propellers, which enables easy transportation and fast deployment.
Features such as the large one-inch sensor with excellent dynamic range, ISO and resolution were the main highlights of Phantom 4 Pro. Moreover, its camera is also capable of taking 60 frames per second in 4K mode. Matching to its specs is the GoPro 5 that offers 4K/30. Considering these major aspects in Phantom 4 Pro, the upcoming device is certainly expected to come with much-advanced features. It needs a lot of processing power to go beyond the 4K/60. But as per rumors, there are chances of it to offer 5.2K/30 mode and even raise the video bitrate to 150 Mbps. Possibly, DJI may introduce the camera with a moderate zoom ranging from 24-50mm. Also, it might offer a zoom mode depending on the sensor crop. And just like the Panasonic GH5, the company may also call for a 10-bits mode. If this happens, it will be the major contender to the Inspire 2. Besides, there are either 22 or 24 megapixels expected in the upcoming DJI Phantom 5 drone. Anything more than that would affect the ISO performance.
Its predecessor came with a Sport mode that enabled the device to tilt at higher angles and go up to 45mph maximum speed. So, the Phantom 5’s speed limit may go even higher but only to a level, where its performance and endurance is not affected. Drones require a specific type of motor and propellers for a great speed and longer flight time. So, the DJI Phantom 5 rumors 2018 indicate a similar speed and flight time too unless its overall design is changed.
DJI Phantom 5 in UAE is anticipated to carry two transmitting bands probably of 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz just like the Phantom 4 Pro and Bison 2.4GHz 360 degree rotatable foldable pocket drone, but with much improvement to the latency and resistance to interference. Also, it will come with the digital link technology that offers better range than what its battery can actually handle. In addition, it might feature a pilot camera probably with a fixed FPV camera just like the DJI Phantom 2 Vision Quadcopter, to promote dual operator’s flight. Besides, there might also be a 360-degree anti-collision feature in the new machine. Most of the 360-degree cameras of 2018 are now coming with such advanced aspects.
Initially, the DJI Phantom 5 release date in UAE was expected to be in September 2017. But the device is still not out yet, and there is also no official confirmation about it. As for the DJI Phantom 5 price in UAE, it is too soon to guess the price and sources also reveal very little.
