The App switcher might not be accessible at times in a single trial. It may take a few times for you to get access to App Switcher. Once you get used to it, then it becomes quite easier to use this gesture-based approach. After closing all the required apps, you can quit the app switcher by either swiping down the app, a simple tap on the app or by tapping on the blurred background. It is presumed that all the future iPhones will adopt the same swipe gesture-based approach in order to force close the app. This is because the upcoming Apple iPhones might not have a physical home button anyway.
