After a huge roadblock with Huawei trade-blacklisting by the USA, the company introduced the most-anticipated Huawei Mate 30 Pro. It is an impressive smartphone with killer specifications and top-notch features. This is unveiled alongside Huawei Mate 30 at an event in Munich, Germany. It packs in more power, more cameras, and an improved design.
The USA ban forced the Chinese company to release smartphones without Google services. Well! This could be embarrassing! Huawei also limits the availability of its device in certain markets. Here is everything that you need to know about Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro display screen curves stylishly around the sides thus giving the handset a unique look. It has a 6.53-inches waterfall display which the company claims to be as Horizon display. It looks great with no edge bezel and is made of glass. The device is IP68 water and dust resistant thus allowing to dip it in water without any damage.
The best attractive element of this device is a circular camera on the rear with four camera lens. This is different from the square camera housing in Huawei Mate 20 Pro. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on either side. Instead of teardrop notch, Huawei included the same old wider notch design as its predecessors.
The latest smartphone runs on Kirin 990 chipset that is based on the latest generation 7nm production process. Each chipset has an octa-core CPU and a 16-core Mali-G76. At the launch event, Huawei showed up the speed tests which reveal the device to achieve faster speeds than Samsung S10 5G. As for the storage space, Huawei Mate 30 Pro offers 128GB/256GB storage and 8GB RAM. The device runs on the latest operating system Android 9.0 Pie with the EMUI 9.1 on the top. It works extremely well on the hardware and also offers features that you expect from the flagship smartphone.
Like all the Huawei smartphones, the phone’s camera is a highlight. It features four cameras of 40MP standard view sensor, 20MP ultra-wide sensor, 8MP telephoto sensor with 3x zoom. There is an additional 3D ToF (time of Flight) depth sensor which seems pointless to have one. The lossless 5X optical zoom is capable enough to capture details in distance. Talking of the night photography, phone is quite impressive.
While the Mate 20 Pro and Mate P30 Pro has 4200mAh, the new Mate 30 Pro gets a bump in battery capacity of 4500mAh battery that can easily render an entire day of battery life. The device is bundled with a 40W proprietary SuperCharge adapter that can easily charge the battery to 70 percent in just 30 minutes. It also supports 27W wireless charging which is a huge improvement over its predecessors. The reverse wireless charging support has received a 3x speed improvement.
Of the three Huawei Mate 30 series smartphones, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G gets a higher price tag. There is also a Porsche Design Huawei Mate 30 RS with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage that costs $2316. Surely, Mate 30 series smartphones will be unavailable in the US.
