Recently, Samsung introduced two new mid-range smartphones in the Galaxy A series. The company has already started to take Samsung Galaxy A9 Star and A9 Star lite pre-orders in China. It is still unconfirmed when the devices will be made available in other international markets. The Galaxy A-series lineup brings up Infinity display design and the device running on latest Android 8.0 Oreo platform. Being a mid-range handset, it is quite good to see a fingerprint scanner on the rear end and a dedicated button that act as Samsung Bixby assistant.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Star boasts 6.3-inches Super AMOLED display of 1080 X 2220 screen resolution and 18:5:9 aspect ratio. Even the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 rumours hint for the larger display and a massive battery. Under the hood, the device packs in mid-range chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. There is a hybrid Dual-SIM slot and an added slot to expand the storage up to 256GB. As for the camera, the device holds a dual rear camera of 24MP and 16MP of f/1.7 aperture. On the front end, there is a single 24MP sensor of f/2.0 aperture. The beauty of the front end camera is it is given an AI beautification feature as in other high-end handsets like Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 plus. To keep the display on, the handset is given a 3700mAh battery. Furthermore, itIt runs on Android 8.0 Oreo straight out of the box with Samsung experience 9.0 interface on the top. Considering all the features, we are looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy A9 star release date as early as possible in other markets.
Talking about the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star lite, this would go as per the name and will be the lite variant of Samsung Galaxy A9 Star. Though not so bigger as Galaxy A9 Star, the Galaxy A9 Star lite features 6-inches Super AMOLED display of full HD resolution and 18:5:9 aspect ratio. As for the remaining Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Lite specs, we have a bit lower Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor being a lite version. Still, it is built of metal body with antenna lines on the top and a fingerprint scanner on the rear end. As for the memory, the device offers 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage. As in Samsung Galaxy A9 Star, even the lite variant gives out the feasibility to expand the storage up to 256GB via a microSD slot. The device features a 24MP selfie camera, but the major difference we could find is in the rear camera setup. The Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Lite has a modest rear camera of 16MP and 5MP sensor. It is the same Android 8.0 Oreo with the Samsung Experience 9.0 UI on the top. Backed up by a bit lower 3500mAh battery, the device can still render the same battery life as Samsung Galaxy A9 Star. Even the Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus features the same 3500mAh battery. Other connectivity options in either of the handsets include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Lite supports Samsung Pay Mini.
Since it is made available for pre-order in China, we are still unaware when the handset will be available in other international markets like UAE. Still, we can assume the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star price in UAE to be around AED 1714. Being a lite version, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Lite price in UAE will be a bit lower at AED 1142. While the Galaxy A9 Star will ship in Black and White, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star lite will be in Black and Blue shades.
