This year, Huawei has again impressed its audience by offering the stunning P20 Pro handset. But looks like the company is not done yet. Similar to the LG’s V-Series and Samsung’s Note Series, Huawei is also planning to launch two flagship phone ranges per year.
Generally, the Mate Series devices are launched during the second half of the year. In 2017, there were two devices on the offer, which are Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro as successors to the Mate 9. And now this year, the brand is gearing up to introduce the next model in the series, which will be probably named Huawei Mate 20.
As of now, there are a few details available of the upcoming handset, which you can check in the following Huawei Mate 20 review.
The Huawei Mate 20 in UAE is expected to come with a premium design. Generally, the devices in this series are pretty larger than the brand’s flagship smartphones. The upcoming handset is likely to get a metal core between the front tempered glass and the back panel. It is unsure if the handset will feature waterproof and notch design. As for the display, it may sport very thin bezels both at the top and bottom. Probably, it will have the fingerprint scanner at the bottom. Some Huawei Mate 20 rumors are also stating that the handset may not include bezels at the top to place a camera within the screen.
The sources hint at the Huawei Mate 20 display to be of around 6.9-inches. It might be offered with an AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Its predecessor Huawei Mate 10 came with a 5.9-inch display, whereas the Pro version got a 6-inch screen. Compared to these models, it is definitely an upgrade in this area. Hence, the screen is likely to be more vibrant and richer than its predecessors and is expected to have HDR10 compatibility too. There is still no clue about the resolution but the news is that the brand will be using Samsung displays.
The previous Huawei smartphones in Dubai were equipped with Leica-branded dual rear cameras. The same was noticed in Huawei P20 and P20 Pro as well. Hence, this year too, we might see the same Leica-brand setup but probably with some upgrades to better its performance. It is also likely to sport the 24MP front camera as in the P20. On the other hand, some reports have also indicated the brand to offer it with triple cameras.
It is almost certain for Huawei to improve the technical aspects of the upcoming phone compared to the previous handsets. Most possibly, the company will go with the latest Kirin processor or the Kirin 970 along with a RAM of either 6GB or even 8GB. There are no details yet if the handset will include the external memory card slot, but the internal storage capacity is likely to increase. Besides, the handset may also get a long-lasting and high capacity battery, probably with wireless charging support. On the other hand, Huawei will mostly opt for the latest version of Android Oreo operating system along with the brand’s own EMUI on the top. Hopefully, this time we might get to see a few more additions to the interface for a much better user experience.
The previous Huawei smartphones, Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro were announced in October 2017. So, here we can expect the Huawei Mate 20 release date in UAE to be at the end of October or at the start of November. Meanwhile, there is no information yet about the Huawei Mate 20 price in UAE, but we can expect it to be slightly higher than its predecessors considering the updates or improvements it might receive.
