With the holy month of Ramadan 2018 festival is about to start, Google has introduced a new feature along with a few other tools that make Ramadan web search easier.
This move from Google is certainly applaudable as it helps users to get all the information they need like details of Ramadan 2018 in Dubai, Ramadan 2018 start date, Ramadan 2018 calendar, Ramadan 2018 fasting hours, about special dishes and more.
This search engine is trying to assist Muslims not just in Dubai and UAE but all over the world to know about the holy month in all the ways.
In the process, the tech giant has introduced a few new applications and tools related to Ramadan 2018 in UAE, especially for those who worship the Islamic faith.
As stated by the company, it employed the world popular artists and calligraphists to work on nearly 35 artworks that seamlessly blend between art, calligraphy and virtual reality. The internationally renowned artists like eL Seed incorporated calligraphy designs with graffiti. Tolga Girgin created a mix of both calligraphy and typography, while Soraya Syed also looked after the calligraphy part of these tools.
Najeeb Jarrar, the marketing manager at Google for the Middle East and North Africa, said “As more than a billion people prepare for the holy month, we too at Google have been working to help our users as they begin to adapt to the month-long occasion. This year, we’ve put together a few special experiences across Google to help people get the most out of the occasion, like bringing you the most relevant information right to your Search results or a new way to share Ramadan greetings that were made using virtual reality technology. From augmented reality in Qibla Finder to virtual reality in Qalam, we brought Google’s innovation to your fingertips this Ramadan.”
People who practice the Islam faith all across the globe can use these tools and search for Ramadan related information. All that users have to do is to get details from the main search results by entering relative questions or queries. The search engine will provide details of prayer timings, calendar, Ramadan tips, special food recipes for Suhoor and Iftar, post-sunset meals during fasting, and information even about Qalam as well as Qibla Finder applications.

One of the tools launched by Google is Qalam, which is an interactive calligraphy application. With the help of this app, users can create their own Ramadan cards, messages and greetings in the 3-D format and send wishes to their near and dear ones. Besides, there is another reality tool designed by Google, which is named, Qibla Finder.
Launched in last year, the Qibla Finder uses augmented reality on Android devices that help people to find directions of the Qibla. This tool is now made available offline and users can also add a shortcut to this app on their home screen for easy access.
On the other hand, Google has recently rolled out Google Assistant to the Pixel C tablet after a long wait. Besides, the company is also in plans to release Pixel 3 – the next anticipated phone from Google.
