Last year, Google rolled out its virtual personal assistant to all the Pixel devices except for Google Pixel C tablet in UAE. Google Assistant was expanded to almost all the Android and iOS devices last December. Despite the Google Pixel tablet was running on the latest Oreo version, it was still left out for reasons unknown.
However, the tablet has now finally received the Google Assistant feature, which works the similar way as on other devices. It pops up on the screen by giving an option of either speaking or typing the commands. Its functioning is the same as on smartphones, however, it brings along some notable aspects. For instance, the virtual assistant doesn’t include the lens on the Pixel C as usually, Google doesn’t enable on Pixel devices, which lack this functionality. But interestingly, this personal assistant supports the landscape mode in Pixel C tablet, thus allowing its users to rotate their device and use conveniently.
Despite this feature’s availability on Google Pixel C in Dubai, there are some uncertainties about the Pixel C’s existence in the long term. Launched in 2015, it came out with an apt Google Pixel C tablet price in Dubai. This tablet didn’t find a place in the online store, which gave out hints about its discontinuation in the market. Seems like its sales numbers have gone down lately as there are much better alternatives available for it right now. Probably, this might also be the reason for the late release of Google Assistant on this tablet. But Google hopes this device to be available for a large user base.
On the other hand, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones were removed from the Google store just around two years post their debut. Currently, the store offers only two models, which are Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones. Maybe the company has its complete focus on the latest smartphones and as a result, it stopped offering the previous models. Especially, the Google Pixel 2 XL is currently doing great in the market and giving a tough competition other smartphones such as Apple iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, LG V30 and a few others.
The original Google Pixel smartphones came out with many interesting features such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC paired with 4GB RAM. Both the devices carried a 12.3MP main camera and 8MP front sensor. The Pixel sports a 5-inch screen, while the Pixel XL has a slightly bigger 5.5-inch display. As per reports, Google will be releasing the latest software updates to these two smartphones for almost six more months. Meanwhile, other brands such as Acer and others are offering new devices. Recently, Acer launched the first Chrome OS tablet with amazing features.
