Mobile phones have evolved drastically over the years, to an extent that it’s no longer apparent why it’s still called a phone when that’s the last thing anyone uses it for these days. It’s more about the apps, and the cameras, than call quality now.
Either ways, the world is addicted to these little gadgets as Smartphones equal convenience. And that’s bait enough to reel in the public. But we’re a hard-to-please lot, and so companies are constantly improving and innovating, and introducing new, unique phones to the masses, every day.
Here are our predictions for what 2016 might have in store for us?
Considering the phones of 2015, we’re guessing that phone companies may have taken an oath to see just how far they can go in terms of increasing proportions. And that may just spill over into the year 2016 too. We’re predicting a whole range of humongous phones coming our way, hopefully not to the extent where even two hands won’t suffice to use them.
While obesity is becoming a national epidemic in most parts of the world now, slim is in for smartphones. They’re getting thinner by the day, albeit usually at a cost, either price wise or with an evident downfall of specs. But all that’s not much of an issue for consumers as long as it fits snugly in their pocket, or to be used as a makeshift knife (Don’t).
Low battery life is a common complaint amongst the consumers, and Phone companies have been striving to meet their requirements, to quite a bit of success. We now have phones that can last for almost two days on a single charge, but it’s only a matter of time before someone outdoes that too. 2016 may see a lot of phones with long-lasting battery life, all packed into a slim, big phone.
People have started to realize that cheap doesn’t necessary entail low quality. And that low priced phones do the job just as well as their more expensive counterparts. Hence, the demand for cost-effective phones may grow.
When purchasing a smartphone, a good camera tops the list of priorities of the majority of the public these days. They need high-res cameras that can produce brilliant photos and videos, especially a front-facing one. With the selfie craze still going strong, phones of 2016 may sport exceptional cameras, and a hoard of unique image-enhancement features.
Chinese phones are being embraced quite whole heartedly by the consumers these days, owing to the fact that Chinese companies are producing good-quality phones that look quite stylish, have the latest technical specifications, offer impressive features, and are mind-bogglingly low-priced. They’re pretty much the perfect package.
Mind you, this is purely a personal opinion based solely upon the smartphones of 2015 and the years before that, company reputations, and consumer behavior. But there’s a likely chance that we may just be right. Only time will tell.
